Welcome to DreambookProductions.com! We are a wedding cinematography boutique serving the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond! Whether a couple is planning their wedding, just engaged, or just browsing; Dreambook Production’s unique and artistic wedding videography & storytelling is sure to sweep you off your feet through motion pictures.
Dreambook Productions was founded in 2013 by Josh Tran, a San Francisco Bay Area native with a deep love for invoking emotion through storytelling. Before he became a wedding videographer in San Francisco, Josh learned a process called “Non-Linear Editing” while making music for friends in high school. This process of piecing things together to create art was done on early archaic computer software; nowhere near as advanced as the wedding videography programs of today. As such, Josh was forced to use creativity and ingenuity to overcome technical limitations.
In college, Josh bought his first “real” camera, a pre-loved Canon Rebel XT with a broken flash. This camera kick-started 10 years of photography enthusiasm, which would result in wedding video craftsmanship.
San Francisco Bay Area couples frequently ask themselves: Do we even need a wedding videographer? The answer is a thousand times YES, you need a wedding videographer and a wedding video. The only reason why wedding videos are not as popular as wedding photography is because “back in the day”, video cameras were not accessible to the masses. Not only that, those cameras couldn’t give the cinematic look and blurry background that truly makes a wedding video dreamy. These days, everyone thinks they can become a wedding videographer because they have a camera! There is a difference between a wedding videographer and an artist that tells a story through motion and sound to create a unique film for a couple..
Whereas many videographers and artists use weddings as a “stepping stone”, Dreambook Productions specializes in wedding videography. Simply put, we love what we do: the process, production, even the quirks, and especially the challenges. As a San Francisco Bay Area wedding videographer, we face much competition. We love competition and believe that the best wedding videographers in San Francisco will stand out amongst their peers.
We don’t claim to be the best videographer in San Francisco or the Bay Area – we are confident that our style of visual storytelling is dynamic and compelling within a wedding videography industry full of talented and creative team. In fact, we know and have worked with studios that we consider part of an elite network of wedding videographers based in San Francisco, South Bay, Napa & Sonoma. Within Northern California, our wedding videography extends to Monterey and Carmel. Beyond the Bay Area and Northern California, and airplane ticket and lodging is really all that is needed for a new and creative wedding videography story. We understand why couples may refer to us as wedding videographers, but if you stuck around this long, we ask that you call us wedding cinematographers, filmmakers, or simply, artists =)
